Richard Rowe

Richard B. Rowe Sr., 87, of Dayton, IA, died Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton.  Private family services will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.

Richard was born October 29, 1935, in Gowrie, IA, the son of William R. and Louise L. (Voss) Rowe.  He attended school in Otho, IA and later continued his education at Technical School.  From 1956 – 1959, he proudly served in the U.S. Army.  On August 24, 1958, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Shaw in Gowrie, IA, and later they made their home in Woodland Park, CO. Bonnie passed away in 1990. On October 14, 1995, he was united in marriage to Karon Johnson in Stanhope, IA.  Dick enjoyed working – especially welding and mechanical work.  He also enjoyed horses, camping in his younger years, fixing up trucks, tinkering and staying busy.  He was always working on a project.  He worked many jobs over the years, and most recently Geis Construction before his retirement in 1997.

Richard is survived by his wife of 27 years:  Karon Rowe of Dayton; 3 children:  Richard Rowe Jr. and wife Dawn of Fort Dodge, Roger Rowe and wife Beth of Alaska and Tracy Rowe of Oklahoma; step children Mike Myers of Gilmore City, Tim Myers and wife Cindy of Dakota City, Allen Myers, Deanne Myers, both of Humboldt, Chris Jensen of Boone, Pam Barkley and husband Kevin of Lehigh; numerous grandchildren and  great grandchildren; and sister:  Sheryll Powers and husband Bob of Colorado Springs, CO.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 5 siblings:  Sheila Rowe, Marilyn Rowe, William “Buzz” Rowe, Sally Rowe and Roy Rowe, and step son Dave Myers.
