Willis Bill Leland Johnson
Willis Bill Leland Johnson was born August 21, 1925 in Pomeroy, IA to Frank and Mary Elizabeth Johnson, and died January 3, 2009.
He served in the US Navy during WWII and felt honored to have been involved in the Pacific Theater. He was a master electrician and worked in and around Pocahontas, Grimes, Council Bluffs, and Jefferson. He was especially proud of the small, electric train diorama he developed and displayed at functions around the upper Midwest. He spent hours tending to and nurturing his roses.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Caroline (Brisbois) Johnson, and by his brother Francis.
Those thankful for having shared in Willis life include his beloved wife Anna, of Fort Dodge, IA, and his sons William (Kathleen) of Columbia, SC, and Frank (Nancy) of Panora IA; daughters Linda (Eckhard) Strempel, of Clive, IA, Ann (Randy) Post, of Rosenburg, TX, Jean (Walter) Jensen of Humboldt, IA, and stepdaughter Carol Martens of Fort Dodge, IA. He is also survived by his two sisters, MaryAnn Buske, of Humboldt, IA and Artha Majorowicsz of Pocahontas, IA, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 7, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home Fort Dodge, Iowa with visitation starting at 2:30 p.m. until service time. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
