William Grossnickle, Jr.

William “Bill” Grossnickle, Jr., 83, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday, November 14, 2004 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at 1:00 pm at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. Martha Bennett officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the funeral home. Interment will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Lehigh with the VFW Post 57 conducting military rites.

William was born on April 29, 1921 in Dayton, IA to William and Mary Nancy (Williamson). He attended school in Emmetsburg, IA. William enlisted in the United States Army. After being Honorable Discharged he was united in marriage to Dorothy (Campbell) on January 5, 1945.

He loved working for the Lehigh Telephone Co. and devoted over 30 years with them.

William’s memories will be cherished by his 2 children, Donna Bailey of Fort Dodge, IA., Kelly (Shelly) Grossnickle of Manson, IA.; 5 Grandchildren, Becky Joslin, Kevin Bailey, Jesse and Justin Grossnickle and Shadd Joslin; 4 siblings, Richard Eugene Grossnickle of Dayton, IA, Shirley Catherine Andrews of Evanston, IA, Gerald Edward Grossnickle of Lehigh, IA, Darrel Arthur Grossnickle of Fort Dodge, IA, Lucille Johnson of Dayton, IA.

William is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy in 1980, his parents; sisters, Bertha, Beulah, Frances, Evelyn and Loretta; brothers, Earl, Virgil.
