Verlene L. Remington
Verlene L. Remington, 81 of Fort Dodge, died Friday September 17, 2004 at the Tompkins Memorial Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday September 20, 2004 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center with the Rev. Ron Kitterman officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
Verlene was born September 14, 1923 the daughter of George and Helga (Johnson) Hale in Coalville, IA. Verlene was a graduate of the Fort Dodge Senior High School. On February 22, 1948 Verlene was united in marriage to Walter LeRoy Remington in Fort Dodge.
Over the past few months Verlene enjoyed attending the adult daycare at Friendship Haven. She loved the interaction with the people and the different activities that were scheduled. Some of Verlene’s favorite past times were doing latch hook, making coasters, and working in her flower gardens. She was doll collector, cat lover, and enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune.
Those thankful for having shared in Verlene’s life include her children, Donald (Shari) Remington of El Dorado, KS, Janice (James) Strong of Fort Dodge, and Rick (Kelli) Remington of Fort Dodge, one brother, Floyd Hale, six grandchildren, Theresa and Amy Remington, Michael D. Wood, Christopher Bradley, Eric and Matthew Remington, one great granddaughter, Haley Wood.
Mrs. Remington was preceded in death by her parents and husband Walter in 1993.
