Memorial Services for Vance A. Vonderohe 66 of Fort Dodge will be Friday, November 6, 2015 at 1:30 at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home wth Rev John Elkin officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 until time of services. Full Military Honors by the Fort Dodge V.F.W. Post 1856 and Iowa Army National Guard will be conducted after the memorial service. He died Monday, November 2, 2015 in rural Fort Dodge.
Vance Alva Vonderohe was born January 11, 1949 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Edwin and Lurene (Fulton) Vonderohe. The family moved to Loveland, Colorado where he graduated from Loveland High School. Vance served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he flew helicopter. After his discharge, he returned to Loveland where he met his future bride, Dianne Bourgeois. The couple was united in marriage in Loveland, Colorado in 1977. The couple settled in Fort Dodge. For the past 18 years, Vance has been flying medivac helicopter for Covenant Hospital in Waterloo and just recently signed on to fly at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and hunting especially bow and arrow. He was a member of NRA. Vance will always be remembered as a gentle, loving and caring man as upon his death he became a donor to the Iowa Donor Network.
He is survived by his wife Dianne of Fort Dodge, daughters; Sarah Hummell of Fort Dodge and Sasha (Zachary) Grillot of Des Moines, two grandchildren; Chesserae and Sabra and siblings; Vickie, Pam and Paul. He was preceded in death by his parents.
