Troy Dean Hoyer, 58, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 5, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 400 S. 13th Street, with Rev. Kendall Meyer officiating. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Troy was born April 15, 1964, in Fort Dodge, the son of Darrell Dean and Kathy Maureen (Angell) Hoyer. He graduated from Northwest Webster High School in 1982. On December 28, 1991, he was united in marriage to Penny L. Tims at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Over the years, he worked for Trinity Regional Medical Center (Environmental Service), Iowa Central Community College and Great Western Dining. Troy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and time to talk. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Troy is survived by his wife of 30 years: Penny L. Hoyer of Fort Dodge; his mother: Kathy Hoyer of Manson, IA; and 2 siblings: Stephanie Wyatt (Jim McFarlin) of Ankeny, IA and Nicholas Hoyer (Jamie Moore) of Aurora, IN. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: Darrell Hoyer; and grandparents: Carl and Helen Hoyer & Alice and Henry Angell.
