Timothy Dean Vance, 59, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Thursday, June 27, 2024, at his home. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.

Tim was born April 15, 1965, in Fort Dodge, the son of Byerl Bayard and Patricia Ann (Steburg) Vance. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1983. In 1983, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1987. In 1987, he was united in marriage to Jeana Choe and to this union 2 children were born: Tyler and Jacob. The couple later divorced. He then married Tonia Abbott on November 23, 2020, and they later divorced. He worked various jobs over the years including Electrolux for 20 years. In his leisure time, Timothy enjoyed the great outdoors. He found solace in the simplicity of fishing and took great joy in spending quality time with his grandchildren. Riding his motorcycle brought him a sense of freedom and adventure, while hanging out with his close friends filled his heart with laughter and camaraderie. An avid football enthusiast, Timothy was known for passionately supporting teams like the Hawkeyes and Stealers. One significant aspect of Timothy's life was his commitment to rescuing dogs in need. His beloved furry companions, "Raider," "Odie," and "Molly," held a special place in his heart. Taking care of them and going on walks in the woods by the river brought him immense happiness and purpose.

Tim is survived by 2 sons: Tyler Vance and wife Erin of Waterloo, IA and Jacob Vance and wife Bre of Correctionville, IA; 2 grandchildren: Greyson and Everett; and 7 siblings: Byerl Vance Jr. of Fort Dodge, Ronald Vance and wife Paula of Fort Dodge, Lisa Bergerud and husband Bruce, Dennis Vance and wife Chris of Fort Dodge, Mary Hacker and husband Virgil of Dakota City, IA, Cindy Vance of Fort Dodge, and Lynn Vance and wife Pam of Fort Dodge. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
