Timothy was born September 2, 1957, in Fort Dodge, the son of Lowell and Lucille (Shelton) Andersen. He grew up in Harcourt with his 5 siblings and attended Central Webster School in Burnside, IA. In October of 1981, Tim married Debra Gray and they had 3 children: Sara, Ryan and Nathan and resided in Harcourt. They later divorced in 2002. Tim worked at IBP, Van Diest and Electrolux – along with many side jobs too. He was always a very hard worker and good provider to his family.
Tim was quite a character and a good friend to many. He could and did talk to anyone and everyone and enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved motorcycles, boating, dancing, playing cards and just having a good time!
He loved working outside in the yard and always planted a huge garden. His kids have many memories of helping him mow the yard, weeding the garden (a favorite of theirs) and picking sweet corn and tomatoes during the summers. He was also quite a wheeler-dealer, always looking for a bargain and usually finding some.
Tim was quite often seen riding around town on his golf cart. He loved to visit with neighbors and give rides on his cart. He was always joking around with his friends and family.
Tim enjoyed the past couple of years at Fort Dodge Health and Rehab and kept people on their toes. He enjoyed trading insults and joking around with staff and residents alike.
Tim's children and grandchildren were the most treasured people in his life and he loved and enjoyed them greatly. He was so proud of the good and generous people that they have become.
He is survived by his children: Sara (Dan Harris) of Fort Dodge, Ryan (Erika Harwood) of Fort Dodge, and Nathan (Sadie) of Lehigh, IA; 8 grandchildren: Leah, Cory, Samantha, Emily, Sylas, Grace, Mila and Layla; 5 siblings: Lola Wann (Tom) of Odessa, MO, Doug Andersen (Maryjo) of Davenport, IA, Valerie Steck (Mark) of Harcourt, Sondra Sandoval (Mike) of Pueblo West, CO, and Sherry Orozco (Mike) of Bettendorf, IA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; nephews: Lucas Helgevold, Michael Jason Sandoval and Bret Steck; and great niece: Maria Andersen.
