Shirley Peterson
Shirley Marie Peterson, 70, of Ames, died Saturday, July 16, 2005 at the Israel Family Hospice, Ames.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at the Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Lynn Elrod of Calvary United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Shirley was born March 3, 1935, the daughter of Frankie and Clara (Stanek) Loehr in Fort Dodge, IA. She graduated from Callender High School with the Class of 1954. On September 29, 1956 Shirley was united in marriage to Earl Peterson.
Shirley was an extremely hard worker who enjoyed helping others and making sure things were done right. She was a people person and could sit down and have a conversation with anyone. Shirley and Earl loved to travel and see the country in their motor home. They enjoyed numerous winters going south. Shirley was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Ames, IA.
Those thankful for having shared in Shirley’s life include her husband Earl, one brother; Roger and his wife Wanda Loehr of Des Moines, one nephew, and two nieces.
Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by her parents.
