Sheryl Sue Larsen

Sheryl Sue Larsen, 77, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home with Rev. John Elkin officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment will take place at Union Cemetery in Humboldt, IA.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Sheryl was born August 1, 1944, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Delbert and Dorothy (Schmoker) Rusher.  She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1962.  She continued her education at Bernal’s Hair Styling School and graduated in 1964.  Sheryl worked as a Beautician for many years at various places.  On July 10, 1964, she was united in marriage to Rolland Larsen at the Baptist Church in Fort Dodge.  To this union 2 children were born:  Mark and Michael.  The couple later divorced.  Sheryl was a perfectionist who enjoyed cooking, going for rides and people watching.  She was full of kindness and pleasant to be around.

Sherly is survived by her ex-husband and dear friend:  Rolland Larsen of Humboldt; 1 son:  Mark Larsen and wife Christine of Indianola, IA; 3 grandchildren:  Christopher of Indianola, Drew of Pleasant Hill, IA and Kennedy of Fort Dodge; 1 great grandson:  Anthony; and 2 brothers:  Dennis Rusher and wife Barb of Mesa, AZ and Lynn Rusher and wife Elizabeth “Liz” of Fort Dodge.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son:  Michael Larsen.
