Scott Morton

October 16, 1933 — September 2, 2017

Memorial services for Scott J. Morton 83 of Clare, IA will be Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. Visitation will also be Wednesday from noon until time of the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Iowa National Guard and the Fort Dodge V.F.W. Post 1856. He died at the Trinity Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 2, 2017.

 

Scott J. Morton was born October 16, 1933 to Hugh and Elizabeth (Adam) Morton. He Graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1952. Scott served in the United States Army as a weather observer from 1953 – 1956. He married Cora Elizabeth Ballhagen on September 5, 1959, at St. Joseph Church in Duncombe, IA. They later divorced.

 

Scott is survive by his children; Joe (Carol) Morton of Lakota, Bill Morton of Fort Dodge, John Morton of St. Cloud, MN, Theresa (Tim) Tracy of Fort Dodge, Marilyn Ricklefs of Rockwell City, Beth (Tim) Weisman of Callender, Jacqui (Randy) Bauer of Humboldt, Corrine Morton of Fort Dodge, and Tamara Rose of Webster City. 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings; Pat McGovern of Pocahontas, Mike McGovern of Gowrie, Hugh Morton of Mexico, and Mary Roberts of Adel.

 

He was preceded in death by is parents, Hugh and Elizabeth Morton, 3 sisters; Suzanne, Nancy and Linda, and 1 brother John.
