Roger C. Baedke, 67, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at his home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Prairie Lakes Church, 200 Avenue O, with Rev. Nathan Lawrence officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the church. Inurnment will take place at North Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.
Roger Charles was born July 21, 1956, in Fort Dodge, the son of Donald and Darlene (Derchied) Baedke. Roger loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family. He enjoyed camping, boating and woodworking. Roger was a member of Prairie Lakes Church and a past member of the First Congregational Church.
Roger is survived by his four children: Anthony (Heather) Baedke, Amy (Jerod) Halverson, Melissa (Ken) Channell, and Michael Potter; twelve grandchildren include: Sloane (Nick) Smith, Autumn Baedke, Ava Baedke, Lief Bruns, Forrest Bruns, Kade Baedke, Lillie Baedke, Bennett, Mason and Emersyn Halverson, Allie (Dakota) Findley, and Dawson Channell; his former wife: Tenna Baedke; 5 siblings: Steve (Sue) Baedke, Greg (Bev) Baedke, Mary Collman, Phyllis (Kyle) Ver Steeg, and Barb (Joe) O’Brion; 2 sisters-in-law: Lynda Baedke and Debbie (Tors) Goetel; and brother-in-law: Chuck (May) Elms. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Julie Baedke; brother: Jim Baedke; brother-in-law: Bruce Collman; 2 grandchildren; and former father and mother-in-law: Chuck and Ernestine Elms.
