Robert Lee Silliman

Robert (Buddy) Lee Silliman, 76, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Taylor Home Hospice in Des Moines, IA. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South, with Bishop LeRoy Johnson of Calvary Memorial Church of God In Christ officiating. Interment will take place at North Lawn Cemetery. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, social distancing must be followed and masks are required. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Robert was born February 17, 1944, in Lauderdale, MS, the son of T.C. and Essie Mae (Moore) Silliman. He attended school in Lauderdale. Robert enjoyed watching Western movies, Kung Fu and socializing.

Robert is survived by 8 children: Stephan Dial, Stacey Silliman-Jones, Obadhi Larsen, Robert Terrell, Cory Silliman, Gerald Dillard, Zamia Silliman and Drew Ruby; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; 6 sisters: Ollie Mae Lewis, Willie Mae Naylor, Karen Silliman, Louise Gowdy, Mary Wright and Shirley Silliman-Thompson; 2 brothers: Early Lloyd and Clarence Rush; and special friend: Faith Larsen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson: Alonzo L. Jones; granddaughter: Mataya McLoughlin; and siblings: Annie Mae Flucker, Ernestine Nicks and Jimmy Roberts.
