Richard Sample

Richard W. Sample, 69, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Fort Dodge Villa Care.  Private family services will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Richard was born January 1, 1953, in Des Moines , IA, the son of Harold and Elizabeth June (Casey) Sample.  He attended school in Des Moines.  Rick proudly served in the U.S. Army.  After many years together, Rick was united in marriage to Rania Baker in 2016.  Rick enjoyed fishing, listening to Christian music, spending time with his friends and playing with his dog:  Simba.  He was a great storyteller with a strong faith in God.

Rick is survived by 3 siblings:  Elizabeth Drumm and husband Gary of Springfield, MO, Lois Risius of Des Moines, and Michael Sample of Des Moines; step-son:  Shannon Wood and wife of Tina of Pocahontas, IA; and a daughter:  Jennifer.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2020; and 2 brothers:  Clifford Sample and Harold Sample Jr.
