Reynolds B. Thomas
Reynolds B. Thomas, 92, of Fort Dodge, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at the Tompkins Memorial Health Center following a short illness. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday January 11, 2008 at the Celebration Center, Friendship Haven. Inurnment will take place in the 16 Cemetery near What Cheer, Iowa at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Reynolds is survived by his wife, Maxine, daughter, Margaret Caturegli of Queretaro, Mexico, son, Seth of Randolph, New Jersey, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and one sister. Reynolds was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on March 22, 1915. He is a graduate of Fort Dodge High School, Carleton College and the University Of Iowa College Of Law. On January 3, 1940 he was united in marriage to Maxine Bowie of Carroll, Iowa. Reynolds was a special agent of the FBI from 1942 to 1944, and served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. Following WWII he practiced law in Fort Dodge until his retirement in 1985. He was the first treasurer of Friendship Haven, a long-time director of the First National Bank of Fort Dodge (now Wells Fargo), past president of the Fort Dodge YMCA, Fort Dodge Library Board, American Red Cross the Fort Dodge chapter and the Fort Dodge Rotary Club. Reynolds was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
