Private family gathering for Pearl L. Burns 63 of Lehigh will be Friday, May 2, 2014 at 4pm at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. She died at her home in Lehigh on Tuesday April 29, 2014.
Pearl Ladema Burns was born May 1, 1950 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Jack and Ruth (Elliot) Pigman. She graduated from Farnhamville Public Schools. Pearl was united in marriage to Ellis “Butch” Burns in 1970 in Rinard, Iowa. The couple settled in Lehigh where she has lived since. Pearl was employed at Friendship Haven for over 35 years where she was supervisor of housekeeping. She enjoyed crafts, especially collecting dolls where her dream was to have a doll museum. Her family was always her top priority.
Pearl is survived by her husband Butch of Lehigh, father Jack Pigman of Lehigh, two sons, Adam (Dawn) Burns of Dayton, and Matt (Betty) Burns of Burlington, three grandchildren; Anthony, Lucas and Becca. She is also survived by one brother Jack of Louisiana, and two sisters, Ella of Arizona and Deb of Jefferson, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Pigman, brother Larry and sister Irene.
