Pearl E. Axness
Pearl E. Axness, 89, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2006 at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Grindberg officiating. Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Pearl was born January 11, 1917 the daughter of Perry O. and Rose (Christianson) Bradley in Badger, IA. In 1936 Pearl was united in marriage to Raymond L. Axness at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, IA. The couple moved to Fort Dodge in 1952.
During her working career she was employed at Mercy Hospital, Trinity Regional Medical Center, the Community Orchard and Friendship Haven.
Pearl loved quilting especially with the sewing ladies at church. She loved to bake and would use her tasty baked goods every Saturday afternoon entertaining guests. Pearl enjoyed the outdoors and going to the lakes.
Pearl was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
Those thankful for having shared in Pearls life include her children; Wayne (Pam) Axness of Fort Dodge, Darrell (Jeanette) Axness of Badger, Gary (Nancy) Axness of Badger, Rose (Larry) Adams of Excelsior Springs, MO, and Terry (Bev) Axness of Badger, two sisters; Opal Axness and Betty (Carroll) Vorrie all of Fort Dodge, 18 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Axness was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond, two sisters; Sutana Askelson, Roseanna Hansch, and one brother; Harold Bradley.
