Pauline Geneva Coulter, 88, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday March 2, 2011 at the Marian Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday March 5, 2011 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Cox officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
Pauline was born September 23, 1922 in Dover, TN to Grigg and Lena (Fowler) Coulter. Pauline grew up in the hills of Tennessee and following her education she moved to Washington D.C. in 1942 where she worked as a secretary at the Pentagon during WWII. During this time she met Marine Drill Instructor Gerald Coulter and the couple was married in March of 1944. After the war Jerry and Pauline moved to Des Moines and later to Fort Dodge where they owned and operated Jerrys Fruit Basket for close to 30 years. Upon her retirement Pauline worked in the Foster Grandparent Program for 14 years especially enjoying her time with the kids.
Those thankful for having shared in Paulines life include her children, Theresa (John) Helmkamp of Ankeny, Michael (Sally) Coulter of Waterloo, Dennis (Debbie) Coulter of Fort Dodge, nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Coulter was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, two sisters and three brothers.
