Funeral services for Paula M. Ober 65 of Blue Earth, formerly of Fort Dodge will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at noon at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge with the Rev. John Hembry officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
Paula Marie Ober was born January 1, 1950 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Edward and Edna (Erickson) Steburg. She grew up in Fort Dodge and attended Fort Dodge Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Duaine Ober on June 8, 1973 in South Dakota. The couple settled in Fort Dodge. Paula worked in housekeeping at Friendship Haven for several years. In 1982 the family moved to Blue Earth, Minnesota. She worked at the St. Luke's Care Center. After her retirement she did volunteer work at the Blue Earth Senior Day Care Center. Paula's hobbies included playing computer games, Yahtzee and cards. She also raised three of her grandchildren. Her family was always her number one priority.
On July 21, 2015, Paula died at the United Hospital in Blue Earth, Minnesota. She is survived by her mother, Edna Quillen of Fort Dodge, husband Duaine of Blue Earth, her children; Douglas (Pamela) Steburg of Blue Earth, Lisa Gilley of Atlanta, Georgia, Chad (Natalie) Ober of Fort Dodge, Jennifer Ober of Jackson, MN and Shaun (Alicia) Ober of Rochester, MN, thirteen grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother Russell (Donna) Steburg of Fort Dodge, sister Cheri Thompson of Tucson, AZ, half brother Dennis (Rose) Quillen and half sister Ruby (Bill) Hinds.
She was preceded in death by her father and step-father, and a sister Pamela.
