Patty L. Parker, 57, of Colo, IA, and formerly of Table Rock Lake, MO, died Monday, June 14, 2021, at her home. A public visitation will be from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Monday, June 21, 2021, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South – Fort Dodge, IA. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Patty was born March 24, 1964, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Orville and Joann (Dencklau) Hammitt. She graduated from Central Webster High School in 1982, and continued her education at ICCC and the University of Iowa where she earned her BA degree in Nursing. Patty was united in marriage to Denny Schmoker and to this union two children were born. The couple later divorced. On September 18, 1992, she married David Parker. Over the years, she worked for Fort Dodge Labs, Trinity Regional Medical Center (ICU) and Cox Medical Center (Dialysis Unit) in Branson, MO. Patty enjoyed lake life – especially fishing, boating and being outdoors in the sunshine. She also enjoyed the ocean and traveling to Louisiana as well as the gulf shores with David, friends and kids/grandkids. Her favorite quote was “the cure for anything is saltwater: sweat, tears or the sea”.

Patty is survived by 2 children: Autumn Schmoker and husband Jake Grossnickle of Rhodes, IA, and Forrest Schmoker and wife Lydia of Fort Dodge; 7 grandchildren: Madelynn, Audrey, Liam, Willa, Wesley, Oliver and Maxxene; her mother: Joann Hammitt of Lehigh, IA; and brother: Gary Hammitt and wife Jenice of Vincent, IA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband: David Parker in 2020; her father: Orville Hammitt in 2004; and the father of her children: Denny Schmoker in 2020.
