Owen Eugene Garlinghouse was born September 18, 1984 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Gary and Susanne (Stevens) Garlinghouse. At the age of 8 he moved with his family to Welcome, Minnesota. He attended Fairmont Public Schools. He was united in marriage to Amy Durbin on July 24, 2012 at the Martin County Courthouse in Fairmont, Minnesota. The couple lived in Welcome, Minnesota for a short time and then moved to Otho, Iowa in April of 2015. Owens hobbies include working on vehicles, hiking and taking his dog Kasie for walks.

On August 8, 2015 Owen E. Garlinghouse died at his home in Otho, Iowa. He is survived by his wife Amy, his mother Susanne, father Larry Carlson, two daughters, Chloe and Aunya. He is also survived by four brothers.

He was preceded in death by his birth father Gary.
