Norma June Wesley Field passed away March 31, 2017, at the Marion Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Norma, the daughter of Charles and Jennie (Liska) Wesley, was born June 4, 1922, in Moorland, Iowa. She graduated from Moorland High School in 1939 as class valedictorian. She continued her education at Fort Dodge Community College and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught at Fiderlick County School in Fulton Township, Otho and Barnum until 1946.
She was united in marriage to Maurice Field on August 23, 1942 at Blackstone, Virginia while Maurice was in the service. They resided on a farm southeast of Moorland where Norma enjoyed gardening, raising chickens and ducks, bird watching and helping with the chores. She was a founding and lifetime member of the Czech Heritage group and did extensive genealogy research.
She is survived by her husband, Maurice, daughters; Kathleen (Delbert) Smith of Decorah and Jeanneen (Irvy) Badger of Moorland, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Maureen.
At her request there will not be a funeral service. Memorials may be left to the Webster County 4-H Foundation, Friends of the Fort Dodge Public Library, Blanden Art Museum, Iowa Natural Heritage or any charitable organization of donor's choice.
