Nelda R. Larsen

Nelda R. Larsen, 61, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Sunday, March 17, 2024, at UnityPoint – Trinity Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Harvest Baptist Church, 614 2^nd Avenue South, with Rev. Marvin Smith III officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the church service.  Interment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.  

Nelda was born February 13, 1963, in Goldthwaite, TX, the daughter of Melvin and Saundra (Ellis) Pierce.  She graduated from Ferris High School in Ferris, TX in 1981, and continued her education at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO where she earned her BA Degree in Christian Education.  On June 15, 1984, she was united in marriage to Paul Larsen at Berean Baptist Church in Springfield.  Over the years, she worked for Friendship Haven, KFC, Wal-Mart and Harvest Baptist School.  Nelda enjoyed spending time with family & friends and taking trips to visit family.  She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church.

Nelda is survived by her husband of 39 years:  Paul Larsen of Fort Dodge; 4 children:  Gabe Larsen and wife Susanna of Fort Dodge, Stephen Larsen and wife Heather of Fort Dodge, Aaron Larsen and wife Casi of Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and Joseph Larsen and wife Kayla of Fort Dodge;   13 grandchildren:  Naomi, Danielle, Ariel, Silas, Titus, Asher, Andrew, Ruth Ann, Madilynne, Adelaide, Emelia, Katerina and Hadassah; brother:  David Nelson of Dover Plains, NY; and mother-in-law:  Lornas Larsen of Des Moines, IA.   She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father:  Melvin Pierce; her mother:  Saundra Hill; siblings:  Peggy Graham, Ernest Nelson Jr. and Beverly Teague; and mother & father-in-law:  Norman and Shirley Larsen.
