Mildred Thul, 82, died Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 10:30am Saturday, January 15th at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Fagerburg officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will from 4-8pm Friday, January 14th at Bruce~Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Mildred was born on August 1, 1922 to William and Jane (Revis) Barmore in Adams, NE. After graduating from Adams High School she continued her education and later taught at a country school. On September 23, 1943 she was united in marriage to Francis Thul in Eagle Grove, IA. In 1954 they made their home in Fort Dodge. Mildred loved helping others. She was a Physical Therapist Assistant, a friend, and most of all a homemaker. Her family and friends were the core of her life. One of Mildred’s gifts was working with her hands. She loved working in her vegetable garden or tending to her rose bushes. One could find her sitting on her deck with her best friend, Charlie the dog, enjoying the serenity of her back yard. She was a collector of angels, enjoyed quilting and sewing with the First Baptist Church women. Mildred’s faith was deeply weaved into her life. She was a member at the First Baptist Church, Friendship Circle and the Crusade Bible study. She enjoyed taking drives with her family and then detouring to an ice cream shop for a treat on the way home. Mildred loved baking chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies and homemade dinner rolls. Mildred’s pride and joy was her family, she devoted her life in helping others and will always be remembered for her love, caring touch and her sense of humor.

Mildred’s memories will be cherished by three children, Patricia (Richard) Holst of Fort Dodge; Alan Thul of Fort Dodge, IA; Deb (Darrel) Jones of Yetters, IA; 2 brothers, Earl Barmore of Humboldt, IA; LaVern Barmore of Phoenix, AZ; 1 sister, Betty Ann Workmiester of Pocahontas, IA; 1 son-in-law, Ron Berns; 5 grandchildren, Melissa and Bryan Holst, Jodi Berns-Lennon, R.J. and Eric Berns; 4 great grandchildren, Brittany, Kyler, Kearstyn and Keagyn.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Francis; 2 daughters, Linda Vinsant and Sharron Berns; 1 grandson, Joe; 1 great granddaughter, Carissa, 1 son-in-law, Bill Vinsant.
