Mildred J. Gras
Mildred J. Gras, 101, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday, September 10, 2006 at the Tompkins Memorial Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2006 at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Bill Kerns officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Dodge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. Sunday at the Bruce-Graham funeral Home and Cremation Center. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Mildred Jane Sell was born December 1, 1904 the daughter of Marion Wilber and Murta Jane Nelson Sell. She attended Duncombe School until 1918 when she moved to Fort Dodge and continued her education at the Fort Dodge High School. She spent her working years at the Kresge Dime Store as the book keeper and cashier. On March 22, 1940 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Gras. He later preceded Mildred in death on March 28, 1995 at the age of 101 years and 8 months.
Those thankful for having shared in Mildreds life include nephews; David (Linda) George of Callender, Bill (Pat) George of Ankeny, W.M. (Marla) Sell of Germany, nieces; Linda (Ed) McConwell of Overland Park, Kansas, Marilyn (Tom) Switzer of Kansas City, Missouri, Jeanne (Brad) Wilhelm of Wylie, Texas, Mildred (Roy) Juell, of B.C., Canada, one brother Ruben Sell of Overland Park, Kansas, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, adopted daughter Gloria, sisters; Faith, Ethel, Hollis and Alberta, and one brother, Walter.
