Michael F. Lawson

Michael (Mike) F. Lawson,  69, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Saturday, November 21, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. A memorial service will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mike was born June 4, 1951, in Lake City, IA, the son of Earl and Julia Lawson. Following high school he continued his education at Technical school until he joined the Army. Mike had a passion for fixing and restoring old cars, attending car shows & swap meets, collecting and traveling. He also enjoyed Thursday night supper with his friends AKA “Crony Night”. Mike was known for his outgoing personality and was never without a joke or story, you never knew which one it would be until the end. He never backed down and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Michael is survived by his wife: Maureen Darley of Fort Dodge; his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; and 5 siblings: Donna, Laurie, Rick, Tim and Harry. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Gilbert; and 4 siblings: Ed, Jim, Sue and Ted.
