Melissa Gordon

Melissa Gordon, 54, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Unity Point – Trinity Regional Medical Center. A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Melissa was born March 30, 1967, in Webster City, IA, the daughter of Ronald and Carol (Klinger) Gordon. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1985, and later continued her education at Iowa Central Community College. In 1985, she enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served her country until her honorable discharge in 1988. Melissa enjoyed reading, camping, BINGO, casino trips, playing on her computer and torturing her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her favorite sister-in-law and her ride or die, Barb Gordon. They were inseparable and did everything together.

Melissa is survived by 2 children: Ellita Gordon of Fort Dodge and Carl Gordon of the Des Moines area; 3 grandchildren: Kaelib Mersch, Lorissa Mersch and Colton Gordon; and brother: David Gordon of Fort Dodge. She is also survived by her nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and her dog: Sammy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Ronald Gordon; grandson: Hunter Gordon; and 3 brothers: Ronald Gordon, Donald Klinger and Kenneth Gordon.
