M. Dee Hughlette, 75, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Bethany Life Nursing Home in Story City, IA. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, September 8th, 2023, at Oleson Park Pavilion. Inurnment will take place in the Otho Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.
Dee was born October 27, 1947, in Fort Dodge, to William L. and H. Arlene (Zimmerman) Campbell. She attended Fort Dodge Senior High. On September 18, 1965, she was united in marriage to Mark H. Webster. She became a widow in 1973. She later married Dick Hughlette on January 12, 1990. Dee worked as a hairstylist for 6 years. In 1985, she became employed with Friendship Haven where she remained working until her retirement in 2011. Dee enjoyed listening to live music, playing cards, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeye Men’s Basketball team. She loved animals and taking care of her dog “Sassy”. Dee was a member of Winds of Fire Church.
Dee is survived by 3 children: Cindee Campbell (Rick) of Waukee, IA, Tricia Kelly of Ankeny, IA, and Jodi Fors (Chuck) of Fort Dodge, IA; 7 grandchildren: Alyssa Campbell of Rochester, NY, Noah Campbell of Waukee, IA, Jacob Kelly of West Des Moines, IA, Macey Kelly of Ankeny, IA, Andrea Fors of Cape Coral, FL, Justin Fors (Braydie) of Savannah, GA, and Brady Fors of Cape Coral, FL, 3 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Sherry Blair of Harcourt, IA, and Rhonda Simmons (Ed) of West Des Moines, IA. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband in 1973; her second husband in 2006; her brother-in-law, Jim Blair; niece, Kim Dorman; nephew-in-law, Steve Dorman; and great nephew, Aaron Dorman.
