Maurine E. Ott
Maurine E. Ott, 88, of Fort Dodge, died Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Tompkins Memorial Health Center, Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2008 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Bird of First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Maurine was born November 26, 1919 the daughter Howard and Lois Young in Sac City, Iowa. Following the death of her parents Maurine was adopted by Guy and Myrtle Doty in Lake City, Iowa. On August 20, 1939 Maurine was united in marriage to George Ott in Lake City. To this union two children were born. Maurine was a great mother tending to all of her families needs. She also enjoyed helping her husband at his chiropractic office on occasion. Maurine loved all kinds of needle work whether it was knitting, crocheting or just sewing. She was very family oriented and always enjoyed the family vacations especially to the Snowy Range in Wyoming. The couple over the years took their motor home on numerous excursions that left great memories and many laughs. Maurine was a member of the First Baptist Church. Those thankful for having shared in Maurines life include her husband of 69 years; Dr. George Ott of Fort Dodge, children; Roger and his wife Cheryl Ott of Ames, IA, Carol Collins of Chyenne, WY, one sister; Joyce Groen of Wall Lake, IA, two brothers; Byron Young of Elgin, IL, Jack Stubbs of Ottumwa, IA, four grandchildren; Michael Ott, Carrie Elbert, Jeffrey Roberts, Adam Roberts, four great grandchildren; Jessica Ott, Grace Ott, James Elbert and Clayton Elbert. Mrs. Ott was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Margaret and Maxine, three brothers; Ken, Bob and Morris.
