Mary E. Stell,86, of Fort Dodge died Wednesday, March 16th at Villa Care Center, Fort Dodge.

A graveside service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, March 18, 2005 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Sister Trudy providing the message.

Mary was born on September 14, 1918 to Clarence and Eva Bell (Clark) Spurlin in Fort Dodge. Mary graduated from the Fort Dodge Senior High School and then married John David Stell Sr. on November 19, 1936 in Fort Dodge.

Mary took great pride in being a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, camping and fishing with her husband and playing “Sorry”. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards with her friends.

Mary’s memories will be cherished by her one son, John Michael Stell of Des Moines, IA;1 brother, Dale Spurlin of Dallas, TX; 1 sister, Marion Spurlin of Hemet, CA; 1 son in law, Roger Hatvedt of Dewitt, IA; many nieces and nephews; 2 granddaughters and 2 great grandsons.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 4 brothers, William Spurlin, James Spurlin, Sunny Spurlin, Eddie Spurlin; 1 sister, Veronica Spitler; 1 child, Dixie Hatvedt.
