Mary Alice Clark Trotter, 86 of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House.Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Harvest Baptist Church.   Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home.Mary was born December 25, 1922 the daughter of Coleman and Elizabeth (Green) Clayton in Lauderdale, Mississippi. She moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1961. She was a cook for many years at Johnsons Nursing Home. When the nursing home closed Mary opened and operated Soul Food Restaurant until her retirement.Mary leaves behind four sons and their families: Tommie and his family of Fort Dodge, Rufus and his family of Fort Dodge, Glenn and his family of Waterloo, Nathan and his family of Fort Dodge. As well as a niece she raised; Rebecca Fields and her husband Terry. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, eighteen siblings, son Johnny Clark and five grandchildren.Our dearest mother Mary will be missed dearly by her family and many others. Rest in peace dear Mother for there is no charge where you are going, no penalties to pay; you have served our master well.
