Martha Mae Cromwell

A memorial visitation for Martha Mae (Marty) Cromwell will be held on Wednesday, August 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bruces Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa. No other services are planned.

Martha Mae (Gerrard) Cromwell was born September 12, 1946 in Fort Dodge, Iowa and passed away at the age of 71 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA. Marty was one of four children born to Norris and Lela Gerrard. She grew up in Fort Dodge and attended Fort Dodge Senior High. Marty was the loving mother of three children, JR Cromwell of Webster City, Mitch Cromwell of Fort Dodge and Margo (Cromwell) Wardell of Fort Dodge.

She is also survived by grandsons Ryan Wardell of Fort Dodge and Austin Madole, Des Moines, and great-granddaughter Teagan Anderson, Webster City, nieces and nephews, and best friend Pam Kenemer of Fort Dodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Norris Gerrard, Jr., Liz Hauge, and LeeAnn Gerrard.

Marty was a cherished mother, grandma, and nanna.  She loved her family unconditionally and was fiercely loyal to family and friends. She enjoyed garage sales and long drives in the country, and was an avid reader and bird watcher. Her favorite saying was “oh, my stars!”, and all who loved her are comforted knowing that tonight, she is shining down on all of us.
