Marla Kay Jacobson, 74, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton, IA. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marla born January 25, 1946, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Arnold and Marie (Adams) Jacobson. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1964, and continued her education at St. Olaf College in Minnesota, earning a BA degree in 1968. Marla had a wonderful voice and enjoyed singing. She also enjoyed reading, keeping her brain active with games such as word searches/puzzles, and taking care of her kitty and best buddy, “Sizzle”. Marla was a member of the National Honor Society.
Marla is survived by her brother: Arlen and wife Shelley of Rocklin, CA; her son: Dr. Brad Brummett and wife Fareen of Amherst, MA; 2 grandchildren: Arman and Feroz; 2 nephews: Brad Jacobson and wife Janet and Mark Jacobson and wife Marilyn – both of California. She is also survived by many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents: William and Selma Adams & Albert and Josie Jacobson.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Grandview Health Care Center and Rachel Hurtt of Unity Point Hospice for the loving care that Marla received in her final days.
