Marjorie Elsen

 Marjorie J. Elsen, 80, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Friendship Haven. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2 - 4 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Northridge Apartments (Conference Room), 2805 6th Avenue North - Fort Dodge.  Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Marjorie was born August 4, 1944, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Roy and Violet (Hubbard) McGuire. She completed her GED and continued her education at Iowa Central College where she graduated from the Nursing Program. On June 23, 1973, Marjorie was united in marriage to Sam V. Elsen and they resided in Palmer. The couple later divorced. Over the years, she worked in Nursing and Caregiving until her retirement in 2006. Marjorie enjoyed reading, music, singing, and time spent with family and friends. She was a social butterfly who made friends everywhere she went. 

 Marjorie is survived by 2 children: Michelle McGuire of Fort Dodge and Chad Elsen of Palmer, 2 grandchildren, Rachel and Reese, Sister Patricia Grove and husband Darrell of Fort Dodge. She is also survived by her nieces Melissa and Jolene.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Mickey and Tom.
