Lula L. Steele, 91, of Fort Dodge, died Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Tompkins Memorial Health Center. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday January 3, 2009 at the Celebration Center, Friendship Haven with the Rev. Stephen Bibb officiating.  Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in North Lawn Cemetery. Lula was born September 11, 1917 the daughter of Elmer and Lula (Miller) Francisco in Oelwein, Iowa.  Lula was united in marriage on December 26, 1939 to LeRoy Steele in Omaha, NE.  Lula was a lover of music from the composing and directing to the performing and enjoying of all types of music.  She enjoyed cooking, baking and making special treats.  Lula was an active participant in numerous church activities as well as serving on several different committees at Friendship Haven.   She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the IM Chapter of the P.E.O. Those thankful for having shared in Lulas life include her children; Richard Steele of St. Charles, MO, Judy (Mike) Waddell of Fort Dodge, IA, six grandchildren; William Steele, Brian (Freedom) Steele, Brad Steele, Bart (Monica) Waddell, Megan (Jeff) Teske, Ty (Jen) Waddell and 13 great grandchildren. Mrs. Steele was preceded in death by her parents, husband; LeRoy, daughter in law; Arlene Steele, one sister; Leone Richmond, two brothers; Howard and George Garner.
