Lucille “Lucy” M. Johnson

Lucille ""Lucy"" M. Johnson, age 83, of Lehigh, died Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Grandview Care Center in Dayton. Lucy was born August 27, 1923 in Emmetsburg. She attended schools in Emmetsburg and Lehigh. Lucy worked at Chings Grocery Store, in Lehigh before she married Sigure Johnson November 5, 1950. Lucy & Sig made their home together in Lehigh for 26 years before Sig passed away. Lucy was a dedicated homemaker and spent a great amount of her time serving the Lord as, not only, a member of Lehigh United Methodist Church, but also as Church Custodian and Sunday School Teacher. Lucy was a very active member of the United Methodist Women's club & Sewing Group.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the Lehigh United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dennis Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in the West Lawn Cemetery, Lehigh. Visitation will be held Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

She will be missed by her daughters, Karen (Lonne) Anderson and Colleen Hay of Fort Dodge; four grandchildren, Scott (Amy) Anderson, Fort Dodge, Brooke (Grant) Vangilder, Lincoln, Nebraska, Rusty Anderson, Ames and French Foreign Exchange Grandchild Basile Morlet, Annecy, France; five great-grandchildren, Joel, Avery, and Allyson Anderson, Peyton and Madison Vangilder; brothers Jerold (Dorothy) Grossnickle, Lehigh, Eugene (Liz) Grossnickle, Dayton, Darrel (Sandy) Grossnickle, Fort Dodge and sister Shirley Andrews, Duncombe.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Mary Grossnickle; husband Sigure and son's Dale and Larry Johnson; brothers William Grossnickle Jr., Earl Grossnickle, Virgil Grossnickle; sisters Frances Mundus, Bertha Evans, Evelyn Grossnickle, Beulah Sturges and Loretta Andrews.
