LuAnn Kay Donovan (Korthas) passed away at home on October 23, 2021, after a brave fight against cancer. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South – Fort Dodge, with Pastor Jena Finch-Manchester of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
LuAnn was born on February 3rd, 1959 to Wilma (Thomas) and Allen Korthas in Belmond, Iowa. She attended school and graduated from Fort Dodge High School.
LuAnn gained tremendous joy from time spent with friends and family. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and sewing. LuAnns special talent was caring for her patients as a CNA at Anna John Nursing Home (a part of the Oneida Nation). Staff and patients could never express enough the wonderful care and compassion LuAnn showed each person with which she worked.
Throughout her life LuAnn has had many wonderful adventures in the various places she lived. She settled in Appleton, WI and had the pleasure of living by neighbors who became, not only friends, but family. In life LuAnn most enjoyed being “Grammy” to her 2-year-old granddaughter, Rylee. Dressing up and dancing were their favorite activities.
LuAnn is survived in life by son, Nolan (McKenzie) Kiesecker; granddaughter, Rylee Grace Kiesecker; brothers Stan (Mary) Korthas of Brunsville, IA, Kent (Cathy) Korthas of Sedalia, MO, Tom (Rhonda) Korthas of Belmond, IA; sister Karen Korthas or Sioux City, IA; and numerous loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In death, LuAnn was proceeded by her parents Wilma (Thomas) Korthas and Allen Korthas of Fort Dodge, IA and infant son, Darwin, shortly after his birth.
LuAnns family would like to thank the medical staff at ThedaCare Regional Cancer Center for the incredible care and guidance they provided her in her journey towards healing. The family would also like to thank the many friends, coworkers, family, and acquaintances for sending cares and messages of positive healing.
Memorial visitation for LuAnn was be held at Wichmann Funeral Home in Appleton, WI.
