Lorraine S McClelland

Funeral services for Lorraine Parsons McClelland 86 of Algona formerly of Fort Dodge and Lehigh will be Monday, February 26, 2018 at First Lutheran Church in Algona at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Grindberg officiating. Visitation will be Sunday 3pm to 5pm also at First Lutheran Church in Algona. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Irvington. She died February 21, 2018 at the West Bend Health and Rehab Center.

Lorraine Parsons McClelland was born November 6, 1931 in Swea City, Iowa to Charlie and Pearl (Cassem) Stone. She attended Swea City Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Richard C. Parsons in 1948. To this union ten children were born; Charles, Patricia, Trudy, Richard, Karla, Terry, Ronald, Rhonda, Samuel, and David. The family settled in the Algona area. Her husband Richard died in 1979. Lorraine moved to Fort Dodge in 1981 where she met her future husband Orville at a dance. Orville McClelland and Lorraine were married in 1984. They resided in Lehigh for over 30 years. Lorraine's favorite hobby was dancing and more dancing. She attended the Polka Fest in Humboldt for years. She loved to travel and visit family. She worked at the Starlight Hotel for several years and was the custodian at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge for 21 years.

She is survived by her children; Charles (Darla) of Granada, MN, Trudy (Donald) Holaday of Cumberland, Richard (Mary) of Fairmont, MN, Terry (Sherri) of Burt, Ronald (Michele) of Burt, Rhonda of Algona, Samuel and fiance Dee Rathjen of Algona, and David (Stephanie)of LuVerne, 37 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Merlin (Carol) Stone of Algona, Joan Heun of Fort Dodge, and Judy (John) Cerwick of Prior Lake, MN and step children; Janet Birks of Topeka, Kansas, Joan Pingel of Plano, Texas and Jerald McClelland of Urbandale,

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Richard and Orville, two daughters Karla and Patricia, a sister Marcella, brother-in-law Walter, one grandson, one great grandson and step-son Jim McClelland.
