Lenora C. Sorenson
Lenora C. Sorenson, 90, of Fort Dodge, died, Thursday July 15, 2004 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. July 19, 2004 at Fulton Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Interment will be in Fulton Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. July 18th at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home.
Lenora was born July 11, 1914, the daughter of Cornelius and Elizabeth (Haugland) Larson in rural Moorland. She graduated from Somers Consolidated School in 1932. On October 3, 1935 Lenora was united in marriage to Clarence Sorenson at the parsonage in Callender. Lenora and Clarence farmed until March of 1940 when they bought Sorenson Grocery in Roelyn. For nearly 50 years they devoted their lives to helping the customers of Sorenson Grocery. Lenora loved crossword puzzles, embroidery, quilting and having family around. She was known for her beef gravy and loved cooking and baking. She was a member of the Fulton Lutheran Church.
Lenora was a gentle soul who will greatly missed by children, Ann (Jim) Halligan of Stillwater, OK, Karen (Del) McCubbin of Omaha, NE, Gerald (Linda) Sorenson of Fort Dodge; 1 sister, Elizabeth Larson of Fort Dodge; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Lenora is preceded in death by parents, husband, Clarence on Oct. 9, 1994; Brothers, Karl and John Larson; Sister Agnes and 1 grandson, Tim McCubbin.
