Lauren G. Secor, 90, of Fort Dodge died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center.

Lauren was born September 22, 1914 the son of Perry and Anna (Gray) Secor in rural Marshall County. On October 15, 1938 Lauren was united in marriage to Irma Cross in Jasper Co. The couple later moved to the Fort Dodge area.

Lauren had a passion for Farmall tractors; he worked diligently and for countless hours on total restorations. He enjoyed taking them to shows where he could sit around and just talk tractors. He looked forward to the arrival of his antique tractor magazines and the time spent reading them over. Lauren was also an avid reader of political correspondence literature.

Lauren was a Past President of the Webster Co. Farm Bureau. He was also a member of the H.O.M.E., the Des Moines River Valley Tractor Club, and Trinity United Methodist Church.

Those thankful for having shared in Lauren’s life include his wife; Irma, one son; James (Margaret) Secor of Chariton, IA, one daughter; Nancy (Edwin) Spire of Webster City, IA, one sister; Mary Lou Secor of Badger, IA, two brothers; Bill Secor, Sr. of Fort Dodge, IA, Alan (Dorothy) Secor of CA, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Secor was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter; Jennifer, one sister; Virginia, two brothers; Robert in infancy, and Gerald.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
