Lanny Hicks, 56, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Otho Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Wednesday.Lanny was born August 27, 1952 the son of Gloria Hicks in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Over the years Lanny has become quite a good handyman always willing to delve into an unfamiliar project to help broaden his knowledge. He enjoyed constructing anything that would help someone out. Lanny loved the great outdoors especially when it was time to go fishing, work in the garden or just taking time to watch the birds.Those thankful for having shared in Lannys life include his children: Tonya Hicks of Fort Dodge, Theresa Boone and her children of Fort Dodge, one sister: Julie (Greg) Sampson of Fort Dodge, three grandchildren: Dezarai, Keiona and Tyra Hicks, two nieces: Lindsay and Ashley Sampson.Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his mother Gloria Hicks, grandparents: Elga and Arvilla Finney and good friend Paul Woolworth.
