Kenneth M. Day
Kenneth M. Day, 77, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday December 18, 2010 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday December 23, 2010 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Holstead officiating. Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 until 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kenneth was born June 11, 1933 the son of Cecil and Anna (Riley) Day in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. At the age of 5 Kenneths family moved to Fort Dodge where he attended school and later graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High with the class of 1952. Following high school Kenneth enlisted in the United States Army serving his country from April of 1953 to April of 1955 when he was honorably discharge.
On August 24, 1962 Kenneth was united in marriage to Ruby Garrett in Fort Dodge.
In Kenneths younger years he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and hunting. More recently he looked forward to looking at classic cars, going to the races and going out with friends for fellowship. Over the years Kenneth and Ruby enjoyed traveling and seeing the country. Kenneth was a member of the Fort Dodge Gun Club.
Those thankful for having shared in Kenneths life include his wife Ruby, step daughter, Debby Black, sister, Betty Day, two grandchildren, Gentry Garrett Black, Brook Souders, two great grandchildren, Levi and Julian Souders.
Mr. Day was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Anna Day.
