Jeffrey J. Tomlinson

Jeffrey J. Tomlinson, 67, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Thursday, November 18, 2021, at his home.  Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Raether officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 1856 and the Army Honor Guard. 

Jeffrey was born August 26, 1954, in Fort Dodge, the son of Roger and Barbara (Trost) Tomlinson. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1973. In 1985, Jeff enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1992. From 2001 – 2015, he worked at Mikos & Matt Furniture, where he was very well liked by co-workers and customers. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially watching and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also enjoyed baseball and at one time helped at Jerry Patterson baseball field mowing and other things. He was a gentle soul with a big heart for others and enjoyed helping or just sitting on the porch talking.  You always felt welcome.  Even the squirrels & birds he fed enjoyed him as much as he did them.  He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.   Jeff will be missed by many.

Jeff is survived by 2 sisters: Teresa and Jean and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother: Scott.
