Funeral services will be at 10 AM Tuesday April 21, 2009 at the First Covenant Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa for Jeanette E. Elg, age 91, who died Thursday, April 16 at the Good Shepherd Home in Sauk Rapids, MN.  Burial will be in the Lost Grove Township Cemetery in Webster County, Iowa.  Visitation will be held at the church beginning one hour prior to the service. 

Jeanette E. Elg was born to Gust and Hattie Erickson on December 24, 1917 at Hebron, NE.  She moved with her family to Webster County Iowa in 1925.  She graduated from Harcourt High School in 1934 and from Fort Dodge Tobin Business College in 1936.  She married Lloyd Elg at Harcourt in 1939.  She resided in Fort Dodge until moving to Sauk Rapids MN in October 2001.  While employed she held various secretarial positions.  She retired in 1979 after many years with the Iowa Department of Human Services.

Jeanette was a member of the First Covenant Church in Fort Dodge and actively involved with Covenant Women ministries.  She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, traveling, and spending time with her family. 

Jeanette is survived by Lloyd, her husband of nearly 70 years, of Sauk Rapids; her son Ronald (Marsha) of St Cloud, MN; granddaughters Holly (John David) Anderson of Sartell, MN and Heidi (Jason) Ness of Sauk Rapids, MN; and great grandchildren Alexa and Connor.

Memorials are preferred to the First Covenant Church, Fort Dodge, IA or the Good Shepherd Foundation, Sauk Rapids, MN.
