Jason Lee Bass

Jason Lee Bass, 50, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Saturday, July 4, 2020, at Unity Point – Trinity Regional Medical Center. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Jason was born October 31, 1969, in Fort Dodge, the son of Charles L. and Bonnie (Clark) Bass. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1987. He later continued his education at Iowa Central Community College where he earned his AA degree in 2006. Jason worked as a mechanic for many years (Decker Truck Line and Umthun Trucking) before running his own computer company, JASA, until his health began to decline. Jason enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a car aficionado who enjoyed tinkering, driving around car lots and motorcycles.

Jason is survived by 2 children: Andrew Bass and wife Maggie of Denton, TX and Sarah Hilyard and husband Ryan of Casper, WY; 9 grandchildren: Owen, Sophia, Noah, Jonah, Chloe, Karsten, Kaleb, Lukas and Levi; 3 brothers: Kenneth Bass and wife Patrice of Fort Dodge, IA, Leonard Bass and wife Kathy of Joplin, MO, and Mark Bass of Farnhamville, IA; 2 sisters: Linda Palmer of Fort Dodge and Kathleen Marquart and husband Greg of Boone, IA; and brother-in-law: Mark Michalski of Fort Dodge. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Clifford Bass; sister: Debra Michalski; and brother-in-law: Robert Palmer.
