Janis Rae Drury

Janis Rae Drury, 73, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at her home. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Janis was born November 28, 1950, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Gould “Wayne” and Donna (Heath) Armstrong. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1968. On September 6, 1969, she was united in marriage to Bobby G. Drury and to this union 2 children were born. After 16 years the couple went their separate ways. Although Janis later chose to keep to herself, she held dear the memories of her earlier years where she delighted in family outings, dining out, and spending time in nature at the park or by the lake.

Janis is survived by 2 daughters: Dawn Forister of Austin, TX and Amanda Statam and husband Joseph of Austin; 4 grandchildren: Austin, Alexis, Tierra and Makayla; and 2 brothers: John Armstrong of Whittemore, IA and Rick Armstrong of Austin. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister: Rhonda McNew.
