James "Jim" Robert McKim

James “Jim” Robert McKim, 67, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at his home.  A celebration of life gathering will be held from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Moose Lodge, 424 1st Avenue South.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.

James was born January 5, 1956, in Story City, IA, the son of William and Doris (Reinartson) McKim.  He grew up in Fort Dodge and attended Fort Dodge Senior High.   On July 11, 1987, he was united in marriage to Claudia Carr and to this union 3 children were born:  James, Josh and Shane.  The couple later divorced.  Over the years, he worked for Georgia Pacific and the Bike Shop until his retirement in 2001.  Jim enjoyed spending time with his son Josh, riding his motorcycle & bicycle, playing with RC Helicopters, Sturgis vacations and going out to supper.  He had a great love for music and was a roadie for Ski Band and other gigs.  Jim was a Foosball whiz who will be greatly missed.  Jim was a former member of ABATE.

Jim is survived by 2 sons:  Josh McKim and significant other Natalie of Fort Dodge, and Shane McKim of Fort Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son:  James William McKim.
