James E. Andrews
James E. Andrews, 85, of Cassville, Missouri, formerly of Webster County, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 27th, 2005 in his daughters home in Cassville.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 31, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 30, 2005 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Dodge.
James was born August 18, 1920 in Homer, Iowa the son of James B. and Bridget (West) Andrews. On March 7, 1944 he was united in marriage to Annie E. May who preceded him in death. He later married Darlene Simpson, who also preceded him in death along with his parents and a daughter, Caren.
He is survived by a son, James E. Andrews of West Des Moines; a daughter, Peggy VanGorkom of Cassville, Missouri; a brother, Benjamin Andrews of Evanston, Iowa; a sister, Elizabeth Grossnickle of Dayton, Iowa; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
James received his education in Webster County where he was a lifelong resident. He served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II. After his discharge from the military, he worked until his retirement in 1982 for U.S. Gypsum. In July 2005 he moved to Cassville to be with his daughter.
James was a member of the Lutheran Church in Dayton, Iowa and the V.F.W. in Lehigh, Iowa.
