James Cibert

James William Cibert, 76 of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday August 18, 2004 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center. The Elder Michael Gregory will be officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1856. Interment will follow in the Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

James was born August 28, 1927 the son of James Floyd and Alma May (Ritchie) Cibert in Fort Dodge, IA. On March 10, 1945 James was united in marriage to Martha Jane Holmes in Fort Dodge. James was later inducted into the United States Army on October 25, 1945 at Fort Snelling. He was honorably discharged July 6, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis., as a Private First Class. He served with the 388th Military Police Battalion.

James loved to work in his garden, do woodworking projects such as lawn ornaments. James and Martha enjoyed there travels to see family in Missouri and Wisconsin. James was a former member of the American Veterans.

Those thankful for having shared in James’ life include his children, Nancy Michael of Fort Dodge, Larry Cibert of Humboldt, three sisters, Alta Mae Nelson of Fort Dodge, Margaret O’Tool of Wisconsin, Marlene Smith of Fort Dodge, 6 grandchildren, Shawn Michael, Tina Michael, Donald Cibert, Bret and Bart Peterson, and Rachael Stockdale and 11 great grandchildren.

Mr. Cibert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Martha in August of 2002, one son, James Floyd Cibert, one son in law, Daniel Michael, and 2 brothers, Bobby and Donald Cibert.
