Ivan L. Harrison

Ivan L. Harrison, 88, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Monday, February 17, 2025, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Regional Medical Center. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the VFW, 518 S. 29th Street – Fort Dodge. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Ivan was born August 19, 1936, in Fort Dodge, the son of Art and Edna Harrison. He attended Fort Dodge Senior High. On April 13, 1995, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Jo (Ackerson) at the VFW in Fort Dodge. Ivan enjoyed fishing, hunting for cans, socializing at Chesterfield Lounge and visiting D & L Recycling. Above all, he enjoyed spending time at home.

Ivan is survived by his wife of 29 years: Rebecca Harrison of Fort Dodge; step-daughter: Alice Derrig (Maurice) of Fort Dodge; 5 grandchildren: Alexis Derrig, Mariah Derrig, Skylar Derrig (Conner Ely), Mikayla Bruns and Dylan Bruns; and 3 great grandchildren: Royalty, Desire and Emmett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 9 siblings: Bruce Harrison, Ion Robins, Harold “Butch” Harrison, Delores Pietsch, Patty Coates, Shirley Grossnickle, Bennie Harrison, Gerald Harrison and Howard Harrison.
